Chester has marked a major milestone in its digital transformation as CityFibre extends its full fibre network to reach almost every business and home locally. As part of a £23m private investment from the company, the historic city will benefit from the city-wide full fibre network roll-out.

This will futureproof the area’s digital connectivity by ensuring its infrastructure can service the speed and bandwidth requirements for decades to come. “This past year has really demonstrated the remarkable versatility of the internet and how much we depend upon all things digital for work, education and social connectivity with our family and friends,” said Julie Derbyshire, CityFibre’s city manager for Chester.
